Cottage Grove Athletic Association Background Check

We have begun a centralized background check procedure for all of CGAA.  All background checks for coaches will be administered at the divisional level.  The division you are coaching will be responsible for informing you that a background check is required. If you have completed a background check in the last year for another sport, you may not be required to submit for this again.  Consult with the appropriate divisional coordinator prior to submitting your background check.

Each division will determine the coaches that are required to pass a background check in order to coach and serve within our organization.  An applicant coaching multiple CGAA sports will be required to pass a background screen every two years and not have to do it for each sport.  This shared process will make things easier for coaches and lower costs for CGAA.  Sports required to have a background check through their sanctioning body such as USA Hockey, MYSA, USA Football, etc., will not be required to background check those coaches again through CGAA.  Documentation from those agencies will be accepted by CGAA and should be provided to the division for which you are coaching.
